On Black Friday this year instead of running around catching sales and spending money I really dont' want to, I got the chance to spend a little time with a beautiful model by the name of Latreasha Anderson!  We had the perfect fall weather for her outdoor Personality Session; not too cold, but enough for a stylish trench and the perfect amount of sun shined on us the entire time!

This personality session was dedicated to capturing shots of Latreasha to build her modeling portfolio. As we walked down Germantown Ave in the Chestnut Hill area, she mentioned that she was building her portfolio to do modeling on the side since she already has a full time gig. I could not help but think of how much more than just an "ON THE SIDE" model she was! She is tall, slender and amazingly beautiful with features that make her soo unique. As we begin shooting, I kept thinking that I hope these photos are just the beginning of where this "ON THE SIDE" modeling takes her! She obviously has what it takes and even with areas of improvement, she can rock it!! On top of dream chasing, her full time gig is being an amazing Child Care Director and being a mother to two HANDSOME boys!  With everything that she does on a daily with being a care taker for others and playing her part in raising two boys…she deserves to be selfish and chase her dreams!

Stepping back and viewing my own life and how I tackle my passions, I realize that chasing down dreams can be so full of emotions that can be hard to combat all at the same time. You deal with feelings of

  • FEAR
  • LOW CONFIDENCE
  • UNWORTH
  • INADEQUACY
  • ILL-FITTING COMPARISONS

AND THE LIST CAN GOES ON!

We try to hide from fully diving into our passions behind phrases such as, "I just like doing this", " It's temporary to help bring in extra money", or "I don't have the time". Just like many of you, I too am so guilty of not believing enough in myself and my dreams. Having this low level of belief causes us to downplay our abilities as if we are not ENOUGH, as if we are not dope and beautiful and capable of creating our own lane and impacting the world!

Giving into the idea that your dreams are too big for you will cause you to give in and give up when slow, stagnant periods come about. When business slows down, calls halt, no one is blowing up your emails, the likes become slim to none and you only have yourself to push you at the moment…

THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO QUESTION YOUR ABILITIES, BUT THE TIME TO GO HARDER, PERFECT YOUR CRAFT EVEN MORE & USE THE SLOW TIME TO CREATE AND DROP BIGGER AND BETTER GEMS!!

The more you own the purpose behind your dreams and passions, the better you will be able to positively combat all the negative emotions that come with chasing your dreams. Purpose has a way of causing all the crazy conditional up and down emotions to ease and fuel you with the desire to create amazing work that will impact the people that it is intended for!

The same way that Latreasha can get up in the morning, get her boys together and ready for their day, take on the huge responsibility of being a child care director and chase down her modeling goals and dreams with courage, strength and perseverance…SO CAN YOU! Let amazing people like Latreasha be encouraging to you because she sure was the right amount of encouragement I needed that day!

THE VISION OF THE GREATNESS AND IMPACT OF YOUR LIFE AND DREAMS IS WHAT SHOULD KEEP PUSHING YOU WHEN THE EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER OF DREAM CHASING DECIDES TO TAKE YOU FOR ONE HELL OF A RIDE!

BUCKLE UP AND TAKE OFF!

Yours Truly,

KHALIA DEBORAH
